Choosing to drink between fizzy, sugary sodas and a natural composite of natural appetite suppressants, minerals with a plethora of different benefits shouldn’t be that hard. Why do we choose to continue to harm our body with processed, unnatural, manufactured poisons? They taste good! It gives us a rush of energy and is an easier, more acceptable option than to just only drink water. It’s apart of our culture to drink sodas, juices, etc. Today I’ll explain why drinking just water (even if it’s boring) is more beneficial (seriously) than drinking sodas and the changes you can make to make that transition smoother. Let’s start!
Body Filtration
Kidney’s play the most crucial role in the excretion of toxins and regulation of water capacity. A research study showed how specific foods from the USDA contain different percentages of water. Where 20% of our water intake comes from the foods we eat.

From this table even if we don’t drink water, we will still be able to retain water levels, however not at the degree that will be natural or even effective for maintaining a regulated mind/body. This is because a lot of stress is used on the kidneys with high sodium diets filled with toxins that harm our body. Excretion of these toxins uses a lot of energy and thus causes immense stress to the kidneys, however regulating the water intake will protect them.
To combat this, create a regulatory plan where managing your water intake can be had. Cutting sugary beverages out entirely is the most effective plan, but as said before, they are apart of our culture. Use water as a way to slowly limit the amount of sugar and sodium being in-taken so the waste will filter out faster, giving more energy and reduced physical-stress levels.
Plastic vs Glass
It’s uncommon to see someone drink from glass bottles now. Since plastic is a cheap and reusable substance, it makes it easier to produce and store (specifically) water in. However, plastics and other materials leech into the water making it very unsafe to drink long-term. Especially if altered by heat, in which polymers will start to leak into the water; and alongside millions of micro-plastics, etc.
To combat this, change the container you use to either a glass bottle or refined metal canister. This will lessen the likelihood of developing plastic related diseases (there are a lot). Since plastic is all around us, lessen the chances of developing said diseases.
Appetite Suppressor
A controversial study showed the relation of drinking water and it’s connection to the increase of metabolic rates and daily energy expenditures. It shows how drinking water can either make you “feel” really hungry or make you very “full”. Even if the results were a success, the correlation can obviously be made between the increase in metabolic rate. How is this? Water ultimately has 0 calories in it allowing you to drink a lot while making you feel very full. Acting as an appetite suppressant, however with little to no water, you will feel as though you are very hungry.
This correlation causes the brain, to or not to, mistake between the hunger and thirst signals. From this, if you drink a lot of water, the digestion of food can seem as though your metabolism has skyrocketed. Whenever you feel hungry drink a lot of water to make sure your body hasn’t given false signals of hunger. You’ll notice it almost instantly and the more this happens, the difference in 2 weeks will be illuminating.
Mineral
“According to current European Community directives, natural mineral waters (NMW’s) are defined as waters of underground origin that are protected from contamination and are micro-biologically wholesome.”
There are specific types of mineral waters, each one consisting of different minerals and chemical composition. Specifically, bicarbonate NMW’s have the benefit of reducing inflammation, irritable bowel syndrome. Used for cases of diabetes, they control hypoglycemia and neutralize metabolic acidosis. Depending on the various compositions of NMW’s they can provide long-lasting benefits. These minerals (especially on a low-energy/caloric diet) are designed to be digested faster than eating food. Rich in sulfate, magnesium, and bicarbonate (each responsible for lowering glucose and LDL (bad) cholesterol levels).
A lot of facts, but you must know the “history” in order to understand why you may/may not use it. Changing from drinking spring or even purified (regular) water to NMW’s can be expensive. The average mineral water costs 2x or even 3x more than a regular bottle of water. However, you don’t have to drink it every day. Two or three days of the week of NMW’s will show specific and amazing results after a time. The longer you continue to drink it, the more effective your body will become in processing/digesting these minerals. Flavored mineral water is also an option to make it similar to drinking a soda because of the CO2 carbonation (some NMW’s are naturally carbonated!!) The benefits are more than drinking regular water, yet be mindful as an excess can lead to an empty wallet…
Conclusion
The benefits I listed above are only a small portion of why water is the only and must be the only beverage that you consume. It gives more benefits than any juice or soda you can ever imagine. The culture of today has been filled with sucrose-filled diets and consuming sugary drinks on top of it will only worsen the condition that you have/will have. Gaining fat and at a higher risk of diabetes and heart-related diseases. To drinking just mineral water and even changing the container in which you put that water in; all of it is connected in a way that will either harm or help you. Just understand that water is one of the first steps to creating a better lifestyle and only once you understand this will the change happen…
Thank you.
